I’m leaving New Orleans tomorrow, almost 8 months to the day since first coming down for what was originally going to be a month’s stay.

I’m going to miss a great deal about this city, and yet I’m feeling a sense of relief about leaving.  This was a hard eight months, and as evidenced by my infrequent postings here, much of it was hard to put into words.

It’s a good time to leave.  Before I succumb to the burnout I’ve seen in so many other volunteers, but also staying long enough to fulfill the commitments I made both to myself and to the people I was working with.

Not much else to say right now.  Maybe after some rest and some distance.
